SJ21 recycling
Modified By Jim on 1/23/2012 8:08:43 PM)

Well a trailering incident this weekend left us with a winch broke off at the base. So what do you do with a broken winch? How about a one of a kind pencil holder!

Lesson learned- do not tie your boat down from the winch!

Jim:

This may have been a blessing.  Say you were out on the water closehauled 20 knots of wind and the winch came off.

Could have been a nasty cituation.

So are we going back with electric powered winch or the standard Wench Winch. (just joking)

Re: SJ21 recycling

I am looking at the composite winches from Barton. While these are not necasarily performance winches but also don't cost $200 a piece either.

The winches on this SJ21 will be mainly used for the genoa.  We are taking this opportunity to move the winches on top of the cabin to clear the rail for unobstructed sitting on the high side rail. Anyone need a single American made ARCO 6 winch?
